A smaller sort
of internet.
A family album. A board for the Sunday regulars. Somewhere to share what you’re making with people who care. Comfyware brings the personal spirit of the IndieWeb and the control of self-hosting to those little places.
The people using the software should be the people it serves and the people who run it. Trust grows from knowing who’s there, who looks after the place, and which house rules you’re agreeing to.
Your place, your rules
Local sovereignty starts with the people who live here. Hosts and members choose their own culture, who can join, and what gets shared.
Know who’s looking after it
A person or a small group takes responsibility for the place. You should know who they are and how to raise a concern.
Your attention is your own
No engagement targets, ranked feeds, infinite scroll, or streaks. Conversations stay chronological and pages have an end. Come back when you want to.
A place for your people
A gathering needs a shared purpose. It can welcome newcomers and still stay small enough to know its hosts. There’s no audience-growth target to chase.
Keep the right to leave
Taking your data with you is a core requirement. We build toward practical backups and useful exports that preserve your contributions and their context, so moving on stays possible.
Your community’s own judgment
The software provides tools for moderation and governance. Hosts and members decide what’s welcome in their space. Each community gets to make that choice for itself.

Can I sign up for an account here?
This is the home of the projects. To use them, install an app on a server you manage, or join an installation run by someone you know. Each community has its own accounts and rules.
Do I need to run both apps?
Either app works on its own. Imvault keeps your images and clips; Witmoot keeps your conversations. Witmoot also supports uploading images through Imvault when you want to use them together.
How can I get involved?
Try an app, tell us what worked, report a bug, or help with code and documentation. Each project page links to its repository. If you’d like to support development financially, there’s Ko-fi too.
